The world of tennis would not be the same without Roger Federer, who is one of the greatest players to have played the game, he recently announced his retirement, and it heavily shook the world of tennis. Roger Federer said he is 41 years old and has played more than 1500 matches in 24 years, tennis has treated him more generously than he could have ever dreamt of, but he has recognized that it’s time to end his competitive career because in the last three years he has seen challenges in the form of injuries and surgeries. He said that the Laver Cup in London will be his final ATP event, it is quite a bittersweet decision that he had to make and he will miss everything the tour has given him.

Out of all the gifts tennis has given him, the greatest without a doubt are the people he has met along the way, his friends, his competitors and most importantly the fans that shower him with love. He considers himself one of the most fortunate people on Earth, as in tennis, he was gifted a special talent, and he excelled at a level that he never imagined, and he is grateful to Swiss Tennis for believing in him as a young player and giving him an ideal start. He said the last 24 years have been an incredible adventure for him and it feels like 24 hours to him. Roger said his love for tennis started when he was a ball kid in his hometown Basel and the journey from the ball kid to being what he is today was magical and he could relive it each day.

Roger Federer is one of the most loved and adored players of tennis and from 2003 to 2020, he has always been in the top 3 of the ATP rankings except for a few years when he was set back by injuries. Roger Federer tops the list of ATP tour singles titles with 103 ATP titles and is also the record holder for most singles titles at 24. Fans flocked to London for the Laver Cup from all over the world to bid farewell to the NinjaFed, it was quite a remarkable event because at the end of the event Roger Federer poured his heart out for his family, his friends, his competitors and all his fans by thanking them for their support throughout his thick and thin journey, and he said he has nothing but love for everyone and his love for tennis will never end.
